High chromium cast iron (Cr content 12%~30%) has become the "main anti-wear force" of mining equipment to cope with harsh working conditions due to its high hardness (HRC55~65) and excellent anti-abrasive wear performance, especially suitable for abrasive wear environment under moderate impact loads. Its carbide (M7C3 type) hardness is as high as HV1600~1800, which can effectively resist cutting and chiseling damage in the process of ore crushing and grinding.

In the crushing equipment, the wear resistance of the hammer, jaw plate and liner made of high-chromium cast iron is 2~3 times higher than that of ordinary manganese steel, which significantly prolongs the operation cycle of jaw crusher and cone crusher; In the field of grinding, the ball mill steel balls and liners are made of high-chromium cast iron, and the wear rate is reduced by more than 40% when processing high-hardness ores such as quartz and iron ore.In addition, its application in slurry pump impeller and pipeline elbow can withstand the synergistic effect of slurry erosion and corrosion, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

When selecting materials, it is necessary to pay attention to the influence of carbon-chromium ratio (C/Cr=0.2~0.35) on the microstructure, optimize the toughness of the matrix through heat treatment (such as quenching and tempering), and balance the hardness and fracture resistance. In recent years, the application of multi-alloying (adding Mo, Ni, Cu) and surface coating technology has further expanded the application range of high-chromium cast iron in high-temperature and strongly corrosive mining environments, and has become a key material choice for cost reduction and efficiency increase.
